About The College
Naveen Govt. College, Pamgarh Dist.-Janjgir-Champa came into existence in 2011 in the vicinity of the Giroudhpuri Dham, the birthplace of saint GuruGhasi Das. The college started with arts, science and commerce faculty in Satnaam Bhavan, Pamgarh, with the help of Ex- MLA Shri Dujram Bouddh and local representatives. It is a centre of higher learning in this remote region in the Janjgir District. In 2015, it shifted behind Tehsil office, Pamgarh and later named after Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, maker of the Indian Constitution. It is a multi Faculty College situated in the lap of historical places. The UGC accorded its recognition under section 2 (f) on 31.03.2014. The college is affiliated with Atal Bihari Vajpayee University, Bilaspur, and is devoted to meet the needs of the higher education in the Pamgarh region to provide a balanced, holistic education. It aims to propagate knowledge in the socially and economically challenged area to the student. It offers UG courses such as B.A., B.Com. B.Sc., with all elective subjects. It also has a PG course in English and Political science. The college has a picturesque location, well furnished and well-equipped facilities. It provides education to remote and deprived masses. The total strength of the students in the academic year 2019-20 is 692 (Out of which female = 56.5 %), which underlines the significance of our college in terms of women empowerment. It has a devoted and determined staff that is consistently engaged in student-centric activities. The college implements some of the best practices for smooth administrative and academic performance: Prizes for meritorious students, Sadbhavna rally, and many awareness programs. It also promotes Sports, Art and Culture by organizing sports and cultural activities. Regarding social extension, the college has an N.S.S. unit of 100 students, which has been conducting constructive social activities that groom the collective aspects of our students. The college has an active women empowerment cell. The teaching staff is qualified and constantly engaged in academic, research and social activities. With their vast experience and broad vision, the college staff supports the ambition plan that takes the college to achieve the great height.
